Story of Coal Mine detection Robot
The story of the coal mine monitoring robot began at Takshak 2022, where Zain allocated 2 lakhs to Fablab for its development. With his friends, he built an acrylic chassis using a laser cutter, despite having limited knowledge of ROS. The robot gained popularity at Takshak, and months later, Zain and Vishnuraj, who joined Fablab, worked tirelessly for 1.5 months to prepare for the IEEE R10 Region Competition in Thailand. Their robot, designed to detect carbon emissions in coal mines and monitor workers' health, aligned with the competition's climate change theme. Despite a rocky PPT round due to technical issues, their live demonstration impressed the judges, earning them second prize. Their hard work and innovation paid off, marking a successful journey for the team.
